Goodbye Andre
I got into tennis in the early 90s and Andre Agassi was probably a large part of what attracted me to the sport in the first place; not so much the brash youngster, but the man who fought his way back up from the bottom rungs of tennis. I liked Andre and how he played tennis; hard and competitive, but fair as well. He was one of the few who could stand up against Pete Sampras, and I loved watching their battles.
Now Sampras is gone, and after this US Open Agassi will be retiring as well. I'd just like to say goodbye Andre, and thanks for the memories; you're a great champion, not just in tennis but in the charities you've started as well, and it's sad to see you go.
As for my predictions for the US Open, well they've been a bit off lately, so I'm not sure if I'd put much weight in them; I predicted Australia would win last years Ashes 3-1, after all, but then won the Melbourne Cup for the third straight year as well! Anyway, I think it'll be another Federer v. Nadal final if only because they're head and shoulders above everyone else - Federer to win in 4 sets, I think. For the women's, maybe Sharapova or Henin-Hardene… now that would be a good-looking final!
