The Life Artist

The Life Artist (2003)

Life Artists are known for creating detailed portraits of a person by gaining insights into their life. To the public they are a mix of artist and biographer but for a Life Artist, a reading is a way of understanding the human soul.

Now Daniel Ryan, an experienced Life Artist, faces his most difficult task: to capture the essence of a dead girl without being overwhelmed and losing everything he stands for.

I wrote The Life Artist in 2003 and it’s the story I’m the most proud of from my early fiction. It marked a transition in my writing and though I’ve come a long way since, it’s a good introduction to my work. It was followed by a prequel, Monica Davis, and I plan to turn it into a novel in the future.
